Marlene graduated in 2009 from the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio with her Doctorate in Physical Therapy.
Marlene has successfully treated children with neuromuscular disorders, developmental delays, and adults with acute and chronic musculoskeletal dysfunctions. She is passionate about providing optimal care to restore function or teach new skills to her clients. She takes pride in using evidence based methods to create a unique plan of care for each of her clients.
Marlene decided to become a physical therapist after her grandmother had a stroke. She volunteered at the skilled nursing home where her grandmother was receiving physical therapy and saw what an impact therapy can have on individuals. She knew that it was her calling to become a physical therapist and provide a skill that can dramatically make a positive change in a person's life. Her goal is to give people the skills and strength to become more functional through movement.
Marlene and her family moved to Mclean, VA in July 2018 due to her husband being in the military. She misses Texas but loves Virginia and its diversity. During Marlene's free time she enjoys being with her two sons and husband. She also loves training in jiu jitsu. Jiu jitsu is a passion Marlene found later in life and she refers to it as her outlet.
